16 Oct 2022

The inspectors at the Ministry of Commerce carried out over 18 thousand market and price monitoring tasks and over 1,062 price monitoring field visits. Over 32,000  price readings of commodities and products were taken at all outlets.

The Ministry’s inspectors monitored the prices of 280 products and commodities using the Electronic Monitoring System. They will keep a close eye on any unjustifiable price hikes and take immediate measures against any such practices.

These inspections are intended to monitor markets, price levels, product abundance, ensuring the availability of different suppliers and substitute products. The visits make sure that businesses comply with the Ministry's laws in order to protect the rights of consumers.

The Ministry urged the consumers to report commercial violations by calling the toll-free number (1900) or through the “A Commercial Report” App.
