MCI Seeks the Opinions of those Interested and the Public Regarding the Proposal of the Implementing Regulations for the Engineering Professions Practicing Law

 The Proposal to Include the Executive Provisions of the Articles of the said Law
 
Based on the principle of transparency and participation, the Ministry of Commerce and Investment invites those interested and the public to express their opinions and suggestions regarding the proposal of the Implementing Regulations of the Engineering Professions Practicing Law, in accordance with Article (16) of the Engineering Professions Practicing Law, issued by the Royal Decree No. M / 36 dated 19 / 04 / 1438H, which states: "The Minister of Commerce and Investment - in coordination with the Board of Directors of the Authority of Saudi Engineers - will issue the Implementing Regulations of the Law within ninety days from the date of its enforcement."

The Ministry explained that the proposed regulations include the executive provisions of the Law’s articles. The most important of which are: How to form the committee of the professional accreditation, concerned with verifying the availability of the necessary conditions for the professional accreditation and the registration with the Authority of the Saudi Engineers, also the classification of the categories of the professional accreditation and the requirements of each category, which include the engineer, the specialist and the technician specialized in the supporting engineering specialties, which will be determined by agreement between the Ministry and the Authority of Saudi Engineers.

The proposed regulations would include also specifying the professional degrees for the engineer, besides the details of the engineering work scope that can be practiced, as well as the cancellation of the professional accreditation and the licenses of the engineering offices or companies.

In addition, the proposed regulations include the mechanism of forming a committee to handle and address the violations resulting from the application of the engineering profession practicing law, also defining the duties of the control officer and his powers and authorities to carry out inspection and control tours.
