AL-QASABI MEETS WITH OMANI MINISTER OF COMMERCE, INDUSTRY AND INVESTMENT PROMOTION AND BOTH DISCUSS WAYS TO ENHANCE BUSINESS RELATIONS AND PROMISING OPPORTUNITIES

The Omani delegation visits the Competitiveness Center and the Saudi Business Center and learn about their roles in facilitating economic activities

H.E. Dr. Majid Abdullah Al-Qasabi, Minister of Commerce and Industry met with his counterpart H.E. Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion of the Sultanate of Oman Qais Mohammed Al Yousef and the accompanying delegation Thursday in Riyadh.

During the bilateral meeting held at the National Competitiveness Center, Al-Qasabi emphasized the importance of strengthening trade and investment ties between the Kingdom and Oman in a variety of industries. 

This is required to achieve the expectations and directives of both countries’ leaders, as well as to capitalize on potential opportunities in light of both countries' future visions (Kingdom 2030 and Oman 2040). It will also boost trade volume and increase the number of visits by senior government officials and corporate sector executives to investigate prospects and turn them into tangible partnerships. 

H.E. the Deputy Minister of Commerce and the CEO of the National Competitiveness Center Dr. Eiman Al-Mutairi, and the Governor of the General Authority for Foreign Trade, H.E. Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Al-Abdulajbar all attended the meeting. 

The National Competitiveness Center's efforts were explained, as well as the experience of Saudi trade missions and their role in promoting non-oil exports and attracting investments in international markets. 

The Omani Minister of Commerce, Industry, and Investment Promotion, and his delegation were briefed on the activities of the Saudi Business Center and the services it provides to the business sector to assist the conduct of economic activities.   

In 2021, the Kingdom's trade volume with the Sultanate of Oman reached 11.1 billion Saudi riyals, with Saudi exports to the Sultanate totaling 4.4 billion Saudi riyals.
