On The World Consumer Day, MCI Honors 100 Informers

On the World Consumer Day, the Ministry of Commerce and Investment has expressed its thanks and appreciation by awarding 100 medals and gifts to the best informers about the commercial violations through the application of a Commercial Violation Reports.

MCI he/she inspectors are paying visits to the informers in their residence in various parts of the Kingdom, and conveying MCI messages of thanks and appreciation for their great job, since they are cooperating with MCI and they have got the highest points and ranks through the application of a Commercial Violation Report. This comes concurrently with the Ministry's celebration of the International Consumer Day on Thursday 15th of March.

This award is based on the mechanism adopted by MCI to honor and grant special medals to he/she informers, who are doing their best by communicating with the Ministry and helping in combating the commercial fraud via the application of a Commercial Violation Report.

The Ministry of Commerce and Investment has always been honoring the consumers who lodge complaints and reports leading to the seizure of commercial violations, in that context H.E. the Minister of Commerce and Investment, Dr. Majid bin Abdullah Al Qasabi, has honored a number of citizens, from different regions of the Kingdom for their cooperation and reporting about the commercial irregularities. Therefore, 300 thousand counterfeit items and 87 tons of corrupted foodstuffs have been seized and confiscated before being distributed on the markets.

MCI would like to call on all consumers to cooperate and lodge their complaints and reports through MCI Consumer Call Center (1900), or through the application of a Commercial Violation Report, or through MCI official website.
