MCI, Inspecting 668 Bakeries in 39 Cities and Detecting 123 Violations

​Inspection Tours Covered all Regions of the Kingdom
 
MCI Inspection Teams have been carrying out intensive and on-going control tours in all regions of the Kingdom since last Saturday, to ensure the bakeries commitment to the standard approved weight of the bread bag, amounting to 510 grams minimum. Meanwhile, 668 bakeries had been visited in 39 cities, resulting in detecting 123 bakeries in violation.
 
MCI Inspection Tours on bakeries Included: Riyadh, Zulfi, Quwaiya, Shakra’a, Dawadmi, Wadi Al Dawasir, Kharj, Al Muzahmiya, Afif, Rumah, Hawtat Bani Tamim, Al Hareek, Makkah, Jeddah, Taif, Rabigh, Rania, Qunfudah, Madinah, Al-Ula, Yanbu, Dammam. Khobar, Qatif, Hafr Al-Batin, Khafji, Al-Ahsa, Hail, Arar, Baga’a,  Gurayyat, Turaif, Tabuk, Al mWajh, Duba, Tabarjal, Jawf, Abha and Khamis Mushayt.
 
MCI inspectors had detected 123 violations for non-commitment with the approved weight of the bread bag. Consequently, the owners were summoned for investigation and they were asked to adjust the weights.

According to the Municipal List of Fines and Penalties, issued by the Council of Ministers, the shortage of bread weight, or non-commitment with the standard specifications, is considered a violation that require imposing penalties and fines, including SR 500 to 3.000, with the closure of the bakery, in case the violation is reoccurred. 
 
MCI calls on all consumers to cooperate and to report any violation or complaint through the Consumer Call Center 1900, or through the application of a Commercial Violation Report, via their smart phones.
