The acts of the Gulf States' trade ministers representatives of the private sector in the GCC consultative meeting began Monday evening in Riyadh, in preparation for the 54th Trade Cooperation Committee of Trade Ministers of the Gulf Cooperation Council meeting, and the 24th Council of the Gulf Standardization Organization Management meeting , which will be held on Tuesday 15 Safar 1438 AH in Riyadh.
The meeting started with the Minister of Trade and Investment, Dr. Majid bin Abdullah Al-Qasabi's speech, welcoming their Excellencies the trade ministers in the Gulf Cooperation Council, chairman of the Federation of GCC Chambers of Commerce and the heads of the GCC Chambers of Commerce.
HE Dr. Al-Qasabi stressed on the importance of strengthening cooperation among GCC members in all that would develop the Gulf trade sector, referring to the serious desire in the facing the trade and investment sector challenges, and we have a sincere desire for continuous development in order to raise the level of the Gulf economy and achieve high position on the global level .
HE Dr. Al-Qasabi concluded his speech by urging their Excellencies the Ministers of trade to present constructive ideas that will contribute to the development of trade and investment system in the GCC countries and benefit everyone.
This was followed by a speech by the Deputy Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council for Social and Economic Affairs Mr. Abdullah Bin Jumah Al-Shibli, who pointed out the most important topics to be discussed and consulted around, like trade facilitation and goods transporting between the GCC countries giving the suggestion of simplifying the procedures at the border points. There is a proposal for the establishing Gulf company specializing in maritime transport, uniformity of procedures for opening branches for companies in the Member States, and adopting the preference of the Gulf product. In addition to the new ideas and proposals that could come up during the meeting.
