MCI, Inspection Rounds Reveal Quantities of Electrical Materials in Violation of the Standard Specifications in Buraidah

Continuation of the Inspection Campaigns on the Violating Goods to protect the Consumers from their Dangers
 
MCI Inspection Rounds conducted by the Field Teams contributed in the seizure and confiscation of more than 2000 electrical items contrary to the Saudi Standards and Specifications in the shops selling electrical materials in the city of Buraidah. The confiscated items included electrical connections and plugs, using such items constitutes a threat to the safety of consumers, they were confiscated on the spot and then to be destroyed. Those involved were summoned for investigation and taking the legal procedures against them. 
 
MCI had recently implemented a comprehensive inspection campaigns on markets through its branches in the regions of the Kingdom to confiscate the counterfeit electrical materials. These campaigns revealed large quantities of counterfeit and fraud electrical items, where they had been destroyed with the closure of the offensive shops and the application of the regulations on those involved.
 
MCI emphasizes that it will continue its inspection rounds on warehouses, factories and commercial institutions, to ensure their regular work, and the absence of fraud practices on consumers, and to stop exploiting the demand for purchase in selling and marketing of any adulterated or counterfeit goods.
 
MCI also stresses that it will not tolerate in imposing the legal penalties on the violators and those involved in the practice of fraud and counterfeiting, and all that put the health and safety of consumers at risk. 
 
MCI calls on all the consumers to report their complaints and observations to the Notification Center in the Ministry on the phone No.1900.
