MC inspection teams have carried out 5,753 inspection tours on markets, commercial centers, shops and outlets in all regions of the Kingdom during the period from 01 to 13 December, to monitor their commitment with the precautionary and preventive measures for confronting Corvide-19 Pandemic.
These inspection campaigns resulted in releasing 638 instant violation notices. Meanwhile, the legal penalties had been imposed in accordance with the regulations relevant to the Precautionary & Preventive measures for confronting Covide-19.
These in inspection tours included: The Eastern region, Riyadh, Qassim, Makkah Al Mukarramah, Najran, Hail, Northern Borders, Jazan, Tabuk, Al Jouf, Madinah, Asir, Al Baha.
The Ministry of Commerce confirms the continuation of following up the institutions’ commitment to the health requirements, which stipulate preventing the entry of those who don’t wear the masks, also ensuring the commitment to social distances, besides providing disinfectants and sterilizers in the necessary places, as well as taking the temperature of employees and customers at the entrances of the malls and commercial centers, in addition to disinfecting shopping trolleys and baskets after each use, and disinfecting all facilities and surfaces.
According to the regulations of violating the precautionary and preventive measures of Covid-19, failure to comply with such precautionary and preventive measures by the commercial establishments requires imposing a fine of 10,000 riyals, and the penalty will be doubled in case of repeating the violation, with the closure of the violating facility.
A fine of 5,000 riyals is also to be imposed on each person when there is a gathering of shoppers or workers inside or outside the commercial store, in excess of the numbers stipulated in the precautionary and preventive measures and their relevant regulations.
