The Ministry of Commerce, in cooperation with the Asharqiyah Chamber of Commerce, organized on Thursday, 13 November 2025, two workshops: the first titled “The New Updates to the Precious Metals Regulation,” and the second an introductory workshop on anti–money laundering, the financing of terrorism, and the financing of the proliferation of weapons in the precious metals and gemstones sector.
The two workshops aim to raise and enhance traders’ awareness of the requirements and obligations related to anti–money laundering, the financing of terrorism, and the financing of proliferation, as well as the key additions contained in the new Precious Metals and Gemstones Regulation. The ministry also explained the types of precious metals and gemstones and the controls governing their circulation.
The workshops were attended by institutions and companies engaged in the precious metals and gemstones activity in the Eastern Region.
These two workshops come as part of the ministry’s efforts to raise and increase traders’ awareness of the topics and developments that arise in regulations and instructions, and to achieve the highest level of compliance.
