The Ministry of Trade and Investment host a workshop to discuss the draft chapters of the economic feasibility study signed by the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) for free trade agreement with the People's Republic of China, with the participation of 13 government agency concerned with the subjects of this study. Among the participants were representatives from the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Energy and Industry and Mineral Resources, Ministry of Communications, the Saudi Arabian Monetary Agency, the General Authority for Investment, Authority export development Authority for Standardization and Metrology and quality, the General Authority for Food and Drug Administration, the Customs Authority, the Saudi Postal Corporation, communications and information Technology Commission, and a program of industrial clusters.
The aim of this workshop, which lasted for three days, is to review the terms of reference in preparation for this study, and to ensure the commitment of the Advisory Office to all the terms of reference for the preparation of this study, as well as to make sure to include all the observations and visuals stakeholders on the draft study.
It should be noted that the discussion of free trade agreement between the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and China resumed at the beginning of this current year, and it is expected that the coming period would witness more meetings between these two sides to reach a final agreement on this Convention.
