MCI, a Notification from a Citizen Reveals a Warehouse for the Storage of Fireworks in Zulfi

53 Thousand Items were Confiscated and Destroyed with the Closure of the Site

A notification from a citizen in Zulfi has led MCI to seize a warehouse involved in the storage of more than 53 thousand items of fireworks, where the said warehouse was immediately closed with the confiscation of all the quantities. Those involved were summoned for investigation and taking the legal procedures against them.  

The details go back when MCI received a notification from a citizen, stating that one Toys Shop in the Governorate of Zulfi is selling dangerous fireworks to the customers from a warehouse located behind the shop. The MCI Inspection Teams rushed to the site and confiscated all the quantities, to be destroyed later on. 

It is worth mentioning that MCI called the public during the last period to report about the fireworks warehouses because they are risky to the safety of consumers and especially children. MCI closed two warehouses in Riyadh and Rafha after their involvement in the storage of such fireworks, where the detected quantities were confiscated and those involved were summoned for investigation and applying the regulation against them in cooperation and joint coordination with the security authorities.  

The Ministry emphasizes that it will not tolerate in imposing the legal penalties on violators and those involved in the storage of dangerous and adulterated materials, which are considered harmful to consumers, and it will continue its surveillance work to monitor any violation in this regard.  

MCI calls on all the consumers to report about the fireworks warehouses to the Notification Center in the Ministry through the toll-free number 1900.
