The Ministry of Commerce issues its quarterly consumer bulletin, reporting the implementation of 179,000 inspection visits to combat fraud and commercial concealment.

The Ministry of Commerce released its quarterly consumer report for the second quarter of 2025, outlining the main actions and efforts aimed at consumer protection in fields including combating commercial fraud, addressing commercial concealment, e-commerce, and others.

The bulletin covered the work of the Permanent Committee for Consumer Protection, where the efforts of 20 government entities are integrated to formulate general and specific policies related to consumer protection. It also highlighted the initiatives and regulatory actions carried out by the Ministry, which contributed to ensuring a high availability of goods and products for the pilgrims during the Hajj season.

The bulletin further discussed the evaluation results of agents and distributors of electrical and electronic appliances, aiming to advance the sector and resolve the challenges encountered by consumers.

During the second quarter of 2025, the Ministry conducted over 179,000 inspection visits to commercial establishments across all regions of the Kingdom to combat fraud and commercial concealment. The total fines imposed on violators of the Anti-Commercial Concealment Law exceeded 2.18 million Saudi Riyals.

Regarding e-commerce stores, the Ministry conducted over 7,000 electronic inspection visits to ensure compliance. During the second quarter, a total of 6,406 new stores were registered through the (Saudi Business Centre) Platform. 

Regarding commercial complaints, the Ministry resolved more than 166,000 cases within one day. Over 17,000 complaints were received that were outside the Ministry’s jurisdiction. The highest number of complaints concerned e-commerce stores, followed by contractual disputes and non-compliance with return and refund policies.
