H.E. the Minister of Commerce and Investment Conveys his Thanks and Appreciation to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques for Approving the Consumer Protection Plan

His Excellency the Minister of Commerce and Investment, Dr. Majid bin Abdullah Al Qasabi, conveyed his thanks and gratitude to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman Bin Abdul Aziz Al-Saud, on the occasion of the cabinet's approval of the Consumer Protection Plan, which aims to protect the consumers against any effects that may arise out of the economic reform decisions.

H.E. Dr. Al Qasabi stressed the importance of reinforcing the integrated work with all government agencies and the private sector, to ensure that consumers are not negatively affected by these decisions, as well as to protect the consumers against any unjustified increases in the prices of goods and products, also to control and monitor any trade violations, concurrently with the implementation of the economic reforms, during the coming period, in addition to having rapid response and intervention at any circumstances that may affect the supply and demand activity.

The aforementioned plan comes within the framework of integration with the financial balance program, and as part of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 initiatives, also to enhance the roles of the parties concerned in protecting and preserving the consumers’ rights against any attempt to exploit or misuse these reforms, besides ensuring the stability of commodity prices.
