Labors Put an Ounce within the Boxes to Increase the Weights and to Benefit from the Differences

MCI had detected a large commercial market in Najran involved in reducing the basic weight of the fruits during the sale by putting an ounce inside the carton to increase the weight which is considered a commercial fraud harming the Consumers. The owner of the market was summoned for investigation and taking the legal procedures against him.

During the inspection rounds, the Inspection Teams suspected the labors manipulating the weight of the item. After verification, it had been found out that an ounce was existing inside the fruit cartons and the labors confessed doing that. 

This comes in the framework of the intensive inspection rounds conducted by MCI in the region , resulted recently in the prevention of marketing  large quantities of corrupted chicken unfit for the human consumption before reaching the markets of Najran. The Inspection Teams seized the quantity loaded in a truck in its way to the restaurants and shops, where the quantity was confiscated and destroyed immediately and those involved were summoned for investigation and taking the necessary legal action against them. 

MCI emphasizes that it will continue its Inspection Rounds on markets and commercial shops to ensure the quality and safety of the foodstuffs and the consuming goods offered for sale, and how far they conform with the Saudi Standards and Specifications. 

MCI stresses that it will not tolerate with those promoting fake or counterfeit goods, particularly that threaten the health and safety of the consumer, and it will apply the necessary legal procedures against the violators.
