The Islamic Centre for Development of Trade (ICDT): “15th OIC Trade Fair is an exceptional opportunity for promoting trade and economic transactions between the Kingdom and OIC member States”
The Ministry of Commerce & Investment is preparing to kick off the 15th OIC Trade Fair, which is considered the largest Islamic trade fair. More than 30 OIC member states would participate in such great event, which will be held at Riyadh International Convention & Exhibition Centre, King Abdullah Rd, Riyadh, during the period 15-19. 08.1437 H, corresponding to 22-26.05.2016 AD, under the kind patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdul-Aziz. This Trade Fair to be organized by the Ministry of Commerce and investment in the Kingdom, in cooperation with the OIC, the Islamic Center for development of trade (ICDT) and the Council of Saudi Chambers.
Islamic Center for Development of Trade announced that in accordance with the decision b / No. 31 issued by the thirtieth session of the Standing Committee for Economic and Commercial Cooperation of OIC held in Istanbul on25-28, November2014 AD, where the Republic of Guinea`s apology for holding the 15th OIC Trade Fair was accepted, and therefore the idea of holding such fair during the said period in Saudi Arabia, Riyadh, was welcomed. The ICDT added that this trade event has great importance and it is considered an exceptional opportunity for the development of trade and economic transactions between Saudi Arabia and OIC member states.
ICDT aims to develop trade among the OIC member states, as well as to encourage OIC traders to create business relationship and to make the necessary cooperation among the member states for establishing and creating business groups, organizations and specialized committees for trade development. Consequently, this would strengthen the bonds of joint cooperation among OIC member states, as well as having coordination for setting up specialized trade exhibitions in different OIC countries.
This exhibition is a great chance for businessmen and private institutions and companies to find numerous opportunities for cooperation in various fields, such as finding new markets for their products and services, establishing joint ventures, providing funding for bilateral trade, identifying business opportunities for industrial projects and expanding trade exchange among OIC member states.
The 15th OIC Trade Fair aims to introduce products, industries and services of the OIC member states, as well as to raise the level of trade exchange and to promote the bilateral investment among the member states, also to deepen the cooperation bonds in various economic fields among member states, beside identifying the investment and trade opportunities in the hosting country, in addition to opening new markets for products and industries of OIC countries, more over promoting trade activities between OIC member States and the hosting country.
The 15th OIC Trade Fair will witness the participation of a number of trade sectors and activities, namely: building, construction, infrastructure, alternative and renewable energy, oil, gas, mineral resources and related activities, services, equipment, medicines, furniture and home furnishings, agriculture, food, water desalination and related services, electrical appliances, household tools, industrial equipment, machinery, cars, factory machines, machines, textiles, garments, cosmetics, perfumes, tourism, therapeutic and educational services.
