MCI, 327 Million Meals and Cans Brought to Pilgrims during the last 8 days

Upon the arrival of the pilgrims to the Holy Places to perform the rituals of pilgrimage, and while they are now in Mina to spend the day of Tarwiyah, the Ministry of Commerce and Investment supervised the entry of more than 327 million items of food supplies to Makkah, Medina and the Holy Places during the past eight days.  

Since the first to the eighth day of Dhul Hijjah, the Ministry has supervised the entry of more than 225 million bottles of water, 67 million loaves of bread and pastries, 28 million bottles of refreshments, juices, milk and yogurt, 5.5 million ready-made meals, and 1.8 million ice blocks.

MCI inspection teams are supervising and monitoring the entry of food supply vehicles, such as large food trucks, foodstuffs vehicles roaming in the Holy Places. They conduct round-the-clock field tours to monitor the availability of foodstuffs, and to monitor shops, outlets and roaming vehicles to ensure the quality and validity of the foodstuffs and other commodities offered to the pilgrims, and how far they are in conformity with the standard specifications.

MCI calls on all consumers and the pilgrims to communicate and to lodge their complaints or observations through MCI Consumer Call Center 1900), or through the application of a Commercial Violation Report, or via the official website of the Ministry.
