MCI, Detecting labors Exploited Houses to Counterfeit Printers Ink, 35 thousand Cartridges were Confiscated

Seizures Carrying Famous Counterfeited Trademarks
 
MCI Control Teams had detected labors counterfeiting printers ink in old houses in Riyadh. They used to refill the cartridges and offer them for sale as original made. More than 35 thousand cartridges were seized and confiscated for famous brands such as "HP" and "Canon". Those involved were summoned for investigation and taking the necessary legal measures against them. 
 
The details go back when the MCI Inspection Teams monitored an old house in Al Muraba`a quarter used for storing the counterfeited printers ink. More than 5 thousand counterfeited ink cartridges were seized and confiscated. These cartridges were refilled on purpose of selling them in the local market as original made.
 
In addition, more than 4 thousand empty ink cartridges, ready to be refilled, were monitored, as well as more than 8 thousand posters bearing the brand of "HP". All the quantities were immediately confiscated in cooperation and coordination with the Joint Security Campaigns. 
 
The MCI Control Teams monitored also a residential villas in the officers quarter and two traditional houses in Etaika in Riyadh exploited by foreign laborers in storage and refilling the counterfeited ink printers, where more than 25 thousand counterfeited ink cartridges of different sizes were confiscated, bearing the brands of "HP" and "Canon".  
 
The MCI Inspection Teams monitored as well, in cooperation with the joint security campaigns,   labors bringing empty cartons in advance, for printing counterfeit trademarks on them, also tools for packaging and machines for thermal packing. The quantities that had been seized and confiscated included: more than 30 thousand empty cartridges, in addition to more than 50 thousand posters and envelopes, and more than 6 thousand of empty cartons. 
 
MCI had implemented, in earlier time, inspection campaigns in the city of Riyadh, which led to the detection of labors used their private housing in refilling counterfeited printers ink. More than 15 thousand ink cartridges were confiscated in a traditional house in Shimeisy, and two apartments in Al Malaz, in Riyadh. Those involved were summoned for investigation and taking the legal measures against them.
 
MCI stresses that it would not tolerate in the application of the statutory procedures against the offenders and those involved in the practice of fraud, and all that puts the health and safety of consumers at risk.
 
MCI calls on all the consumers to report their complaints and observations to the Notification Center in the Ministry on the phone No. 1900.
