During the period 09 to 16 Ramadan, MC inspection teams in Jazan carried out 885 inspection tours on the commercial establishments to ensure the continuity of their work in providing foodstuffs, Ramadan Commodities and services to consumers, and to verify their commitment to consumer’s protection regulations.
MC inspection tours in Jazan aimed at intensifying control over food warehouses, commodity stock and consumable outlets, including groceries, hypermarkets, meat and fish stores, vegetables & fruits markets, bakeries and fuel stations. Meanwhile, 41 violation notices were released, 25 % of which were relevant to excessive price violations. Consequently, instant fines were imposed against the violators.
The Ministry of Commerce confirmed that the work in these facilities is running smoothly, in terms of the availability and abundance of goods, and the necessary food supplies used by the consumers in the Holy Month of Ramadan.
The Ministry of Commerce would like to stress the importance of following a balanced food consumption of all items, and not to waste or purchase large food quantities excessively and over the need.
