The Ministry of Commerce & Investment has been awarded the prize of Excellent Government Performance for the Second Time in Medina

​H.E. the Minister of Commerce and Investment, Dr. Majid bin Abdullah Al Qasabi has received today the Award for Excellent Government Performance from His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Medina, during the ceremony of honoring the winners of the Best Performing Government Departments in Medina, in its third edition.

MCI Branch in Medina has won the Golden Award for Consumer`s satisfaction and the Bronze Award for serving and employing citizens with special needs. This is the second prize awarded to MCI branch in Medina after obtaining the Silver Award during the second edition. This event witnessed the participation of 136 government departments in Medina.

In a statement to H.E. Dr. Majid Al Qasabi after this great event, he said: "I extend my thanks and appreciation to His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Salman for his kind support to enhance competitiveness among the governments departments to achieve the citizen need of high-quality services.

H. E. Dr. Al Qasabi confirmed that this success and excellence has been achieved with the help of Almighty Allah first, and then with the efforts of my colleagues in the Ministry, particularly H.E. the Minister of Health Dr. Tawfiq Bin Fawzan Al Rabiah, during his work at MCI.

H. E. the Minister concluded his speech by saying that the Ministry of Commerce and Investment, in cooperation with all relevant authorities, will work hard and do its best to achieve the aspirations of our wise leadership, in accordance with the Kingdom 2030 Vision,

It is worth mentioning that the government departments, participating in this award, were subject to special evaluation criteria, set by the authority in charge of this program, where a number of workshops were held, attended by various delegates of government departments, to define and introduce the award and the items included under the competition.

Notably, the Ministry of Commerce and Investment has recently launched the New Corporate Law to enhance the value of companies and to promote their trade activities and contribution in serving the national economy. The New corporate Law would contribute in reducing the cost of procedures and encouraging the trade initiatives. This would promote the Kingdom`s leading position and its competitive advantages, as well as encouraging the investments of entrepreneurs and small and medium enterprises.
