H.E. the Minister of Commerce & Investment Met the Entrepreneurs and had a look at the Products of “Stall Market”, Organized by Jeddah Chamber of Commerce

H.E. the Minister of Commerce and Investment, Dr. Majid bin Abdullah Al Qasabi considers the Saudi Chambers of Commerce a key pillar of the economic development in Saudi Arabia, stressing the partnership with such chambers to find the best ways and solutions to eliminate the challenges facing the business sectors. H.E. Dr. Al Qasabi urged all chambers to keep pace with the economic reforms undertaken by the State, as well as to be in line with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.

Meanwhile, H.E. Dr. Al Qasabi had a meeting, on Thursday evening at Jeddah Chamber of Commerce, with the chairman and members of the board of directors, chief executives, businessmen, male and female entrepreneurs, who discussed the challenges facing various business sectors, and listened to the most prominent solutions that can be provided by the Ministry in the current and future stages. H.E. was keen to inform the attendants about the Ministry's efforts during the previous period that aimed to promote and strengthen the role of economy, and to maximize the opportunities to stand in the ranks of the major economies in the world.

During the meeting, H.E. the Minister discussed the e-commerce and the development of the relevant legislation, stressing the importance and the need for the Kingdom to occupy a leading position in the competitiveness worldwide, and the necessity   to work under the concept of franchise, as well as to support small & medium enterprises, in addition to speed up the procedures to keep pace with the National Transformation Program.

H.E. Dr. Al Qasabi appreciated the great efforts undertaken by Jeddah Chamber of Commerce to support small and medium enterprises sector over the decades, confirming that the Ministry is working with all Saudi Chambers to highlight the creative abilities of the young male and female entrepreneurs, as well as to develop their enterprises. Consequently, this would benefit the national economy. H.E. Dr. Al Qasabi confirmed that he had seen a lot of leading projects, which calls for pride and dignity, as they provide promising job opportunities for Saudi youth, and contribute to boost the economy and development in the Kingdom.

H.E. the Minister had a tour in Jeddah seasonal market, "Stall Market", which aims to support small and medium enterprises, he had a look at a number of projects and products offered by male and female entrepreneurs through 240 stalls, where 8 thousand items had been presented and offered for sale, including foodstuffs, gifts, costumes, paintings, accessories, entertainment items, children games and other services.

H.E. expressed his happiness upon seeing various products and handicrafts created by national young men and women, stressing the on-going pursuit for excellence, and the importance of taking advantage of all facilities offered by government and private bodies to support this important sector of the national economy, focusing on the great efforts rendered by the State to assist the productive families on marketing their products.

For his part,  the chairman of Jeddah Chamber of Commerce, Saleh Bin Abdullah Kamel praised the visit paid by the Minister to Jeddah Chamber, indicating that all the staff are happy of the Minister’s visit, who had gained the confidence of the wise leadership to be in charge of the Ministry, which combines trade and investment functions, pointing as well that the Saudi businessmen and foreign investors are very interested in this Ministry, focusing on the cooperation of all parties to achieve the targets of the Kingdom's Vision 2030, that is to diversify sources of income, as well as creating investment opportunities and fulfilling the aspirations of the business community.

The Chairman of Jeddah Chamber added that the support of His Excellency the Minister for the entrepreneurs and the owners of small & medium enterprises is considered a great motivation to continue working in this sector. This is proved by the Minister’s visit to “Stall Market”, which was constructed by Jeddah Chamber of Commerce on an area of five thousand square meters, and offers 8,000 of various consuming commodities, and it is held every Friday with the participation of more than eight thousand male and female entrepreneurs and productive families, in order to support the owners of small & medium enterprises and contribute in marketing their products.

Meanwhile, the business community expressed their pleasure for the presence of the Minister of Commerce and investment among them, to listen to their views and opinions, as well as to discuss the most prominent  aspirations that shape the reality and plan for the future, in order to develop various investments and support the value-added enterprises of the private institutions and companies.
