H.E. the Minister of Commerce and Investment and H.E. the Minister of Municipality and Rural Affairs Inaugurate the Electronic Link for Municipality Licenses and Commercial Registration

H.E. the Minister of Commerce and Investment, Dr. Majid bin Abdullah Al Qassabi, and H.E. the Minister of Municipal and Rural Affairs Engr. Abdul Latif bin Abdulmalik Al-Sheikh inaugurated the service of linking the Municipal Licenses with the Commercial Registration directly online. This is for companies and Establishments through Meras e-platform.

H.E. the Minister of Commerce and Investment, Chairman of the Executive Committee for Improving the Performance of Private Sector Businesses, "Taysir" affirmed that the service of linking the Municipal Licenses with the Commercial Registrations will contribute to facilitating and ease the exercise of commercial activities and investment in the Kingdom, as well as improving the business environment and creating a competitive and an attractive environment for domestic and foreign capital, also for boosting the Kingdom’s rank in the World Business Index.

H. E. added that investors and entrepreneurs can start their business activities and benefit from 76 services provided by Meras e-platform. This electronic linking process will reduce the steps for starting up a business in the Kingdom and it would raise the Kingdom's rank in World Competitiveness Indicators.
For his part, H.E. the Minister of Municipal and Rural Affairs highlighted the great importance attached by the Ministry to facilitate business and empower investors. H. E.  praised the electronic linking for getting new licenses through Meras and its impact on improving the business environment for a number of commercial activities.

It is worth mentioning that Meras e-platform is one of the initiatives of the Executive Committee for Improving the Performance of the Private Sector Businesses within the National Transformation Program 2020, which aims to increase the contribution of the private sector to the Kingdom's GDP and promote the National Economy for the realization of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030. The initiative and the e-platform were launched last Shaaban 1438 AH, followed by the addition of many electronic services, such as the service of  "Eltizam" that helps the government agencies and enterprises to know the status of the establishment or company, also assigning the trade names immediately, Then Meras e-service was launched in Riyadh, followed by launching the service of “Wosool, which helps to contact with businesses and with individuals, and recently the application of "Meras" for smart devices has been launched.
