MCI, Detecting Labors Storing Phone Packing Cases for Marketing Stolen Phones in Riyadh

As MCI is continuing its efforts to protect the consumers and to impose penalties against those violating the law of Anti-Commercial Fraud, MCI Control Teams have detected labors storing more than 2000 packing cases of smartphones bearing the brand of "iPhone" and "Galaxy " at a warehouse and show room in Batha quarter, south of Riyadh. The labors exploited these packing cases for the disposal of the stolen devices by putting them inside those cases, to be marketed in the commercial shops by deluding the consumers that they are of high quality. All the quantities were confiscated with the closure of the two sites, and those involved were summoned for investigation and applying the statutory penalties against them.
 
The MCI Inspection Teams, in cooperation and coordination with the joint security campaigns, had seized more than 7 thousand pieces of counterfeit mobile chargers for famous brands before marketing them in the shops, because they are considered a risk to the safety of consumers.
 
MCI had announced earlier the implementation of control campaigns, resulted in detecting labors involved in storing large quantities of counterfeit and adulterated electrical materials and consuming commodities, inside warehouses and homes in the center of Riyadh, those involved were summoned for investigation and taking the legal procedures against them.
 
MCI stresses that it will not tolerate in imposing the legal penalties on violators and those involved in the practice of fraud, and all that put the health and safety of consumers at risk.
 
MCI calls on all consumers to report their complaints and observations to the Notification Center in the Ministry, through the toll-free number 1900.
