09 Oct 2022

The Ministry of Commerce said its inspectors carried out 18,000 visits to monitor markets and prices across the Kingdom's region within the first week of October.

According to the Ministry, 1,305 visits were dedicated to monitoring prices, which included 29 thousand price readings of commodities and products at all outlets.

The Ministry strictly monitors the prices of 278 essential commodities across all regions using an electronic system. These visits are intended to keep a close eye on market conditions and price levels, as well as to ensure an abundance of products and suppliers. They also guarantee the availability of high-quality alternative products, and verify businesses’ compliance with the Ministry's regulations in order to protect and safeguard consumer rights.

The Ministry urged the consumers to report commercial violations by calling the toll-free number (1900) or through the “A Commercial Report” App.
