The Ministry of Commerce clarified the rate of compliance of electronic stores in the evaluation whose results were recently announced, according to the ten standards applied to 100 electronic stores “in the first phase.”
The evaluation aims to raise compliance rates, safeguard and protect consumer rights, and enable stores to enhance their services.
The evaluated stores recorded a 100% compliance rate in the standard of having a secure and high-quality website, which measures the following elements: (website speed, ease of use, availability of cybersecurity protection). The stores recorded 99% compliance in the standard of providing easy means of communication for customer service to enable direct contact with consumers, and 99% compliance in the standard of providing a policy for exchange, returns, and refunds on the store.
Compliance rates ranged between 96% and 91% in the following four standards: availability of a policy for consumer data protection and privacy on the store, availability of a policy of consumer rights and obligations for shipping and delivery on the store, displaying the commercial registration number and all required licenses on the store’s homepage, and displaying the tax number and all required licenses on the store’s homepage.
Compliance rates ranged between 79% and 75% in the following three standards: availability of a policy for handling customer complaints and suggestions on the store, verification of the e-store in the Saudi Business Center, and verification of the e-store link in the commercial registration.
