With the Attendance of 16 Government Agencies, H.E. Dr. Al-Qasabi Inaugurates Meras Center for Business Services

 Launching the First Smart Service Center to Include 35 Services
 
His Excellency Dr. Majid bin Abdullah Al Qasabi, Minister of Commerce and Investment, Chairman of the Executive Committee for Improving Business Performance in the Private Sector, inaugurates on Wednesday evening 09.08.2017 in Riyadh the Consolidated Service Center of Meras Initiative, with the attendance of 16 government agencies. Meras Service Center aims to provide government services for starting up and practicing business under one roof. These services include comprehensive service centers with one access to business services, as well as interactive content for business start-up requirements, also a standard business start-up form, all that with the necessary integration and coordination with various government agencies, in addition to an e-platform for business services.

Meanwhile, Meras Service Center aims primarily at providing e-government services to all entrepreneurs and   investors in the Kingdom.  More than 35 e-services are provided by the relevant government agencies, with full ease and flexibility including: e-services for Commercial Registration, opening a file for new Establishment at the Ministry of Labor, issuance of work permits, licensing of gymnasiums and sports centers, utilization of contract authentication services at the Ministry of Justice, registration and activation of Absher service, and other government services. The concerned committee confirms the on-going cooperation and integration with the relevant government agencies to facilitate and ease the procedures to ensure efficiency and high quality service for starting up a business in the Kingdom.

During the next stages, Meras initiative will include interactive content through the website, which will help and show how to start up a business, in cooperation with the government agencies and the private sector. Thus providing the easiest way to start up and practice a business through availing from the government services and the value-added services, such as: the available investment opportunities, consultation, investment data and training, which will help investors, entrepreneurs and small and medium enterprises to raise their potentials, getting more opportunities and getting the appropriate financial services.

Meras services will mainly affect several Saudi indicators, such as the Kingdom's ranking in the ease of doing business index, as well as the Kingdom’s ranking in the Global Competitiveness Report. So, this initiative aims to achieve advanced levels in such global reports to go in line with the objectives of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030. Meras initiative is endeavoring to make the time limit required to start up a business only one day, currently for the majority of business activities in cooperation with the other government agencies.

Business Improving Committee, which includes 16 government agencies, aims to be a role model. The government agencies are as follows: Ministry of Commerce & Investment, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Economy and Planning, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs, Ministry of Labor and Social Development, Ministry of Energy, Industry and Mineral Resources, Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Health, General Investment Authority, Small & Medium Enterprises Authority, Authority of Audio-Video Media, General Organization for Ports, General Customs Authority). Therefore, all needed cooperation, facilities and ease of work are done through the relevant government authorities. This will save the time for the customers by providing all the required services under one roof. Meanwhile, the aforementioned committee will continue to monitor and follow up the need to open additional centers in other cities of the Kingdom.

It is worth mentioning that Meras Center is opening seven days a week from 9:00 am to 11:00 pm, on Fridays, the center will be opened from 4:00 pm to 11:00 pm to serve all investors and entrepreneurs. .
