The Ministry of Commerce emphasized that the only authorized means of reporting commercial violations are through the Commercial Violation App or the unified number 1900. The announcement came after the Ministry discovered a new method of deception and fraudulent activities originating from websites purporting to be specialized in filing reports.
The Ministry reassured consumers that it does not request confidential information such as bank account numbers, card details, passwords, or verification codes. It cautioned against sharing such sensitive data with any third-party. Moreover, when reporting a commercial violation, the Ministry does not require downloading any external programs or applications.
The Ministry cautioned consumers about fraudulent links in search engines that lead to fake pages exploiting its identity.
It emphasized that the only authorized channels for filing commercial violations are: the unified number 1900 and the Commercial Violation App which is downloadable via:
