During the period from 15 March to 07 April, MC inspection teams in Al Baha Region carried out 1990 inspection tours on the commercial establishments to monitor and follow up the continuity of their work in providing foodstuffs and services to consumers, and to verify their commitment to consumer’s protection regulations.

MC inspection tours aimed at intensifying control over food stores & warehouses, commodity stock and consumable outlets, including groceries, hypermarkets, meat and fish stores, vegetables & fruits markets, bakeries and fuel stations. Meanwhile, 242 violation notices were released, 40% of which were relevant to excessive price violations. Consequently, instant fines were imposed against the violators.

The inspection tours included the city of Al-Baha and its affiliate governorates: Al-Makhwah, Qalwa, Al-Shuara, Ghamid Al-Zanad, Al-Hijrah, Al-Aqiq, Al-Mandaq, Al Qura, Baljurashi and Bani Hasan.

The Ministry of Commerce confirmed that the work in these facilities is running smoothly, in terms of the availability and abundance of goods, and the necessary food supplies to the consumers.
The Ministry of Commerce would like to stress and advise all consumers about the importance of having balanced consumption of all commodities, and to avoid wasting and purchasing quantities of food excessively and over their need.

The Ministry of Commerce continues to receive the consumers’ complaints and reports round the clock through MCI Consumer Call Center (1900), or through the application of a Commercial Violation Report, or via the Ministry’s website.
