MCI inspection tours, in cooperation with the Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization and the Saudi Center for Energy Efficiency, resulted in detecting a number of car exhibitions in violation.
Meanwhile, 3248 institutions had been visited and checked, resulted in detecting 114 violations. Such violations included label design different of what had been stated in the specification or the presence of wrong information on the label, besides some labels found damaged or torn apart, also some labels are not available on the cars or they are placed in the wrong place.
This campaign is part of the efforts rendered by several government authorities, operating as one system within the Saudi Program for Energy Efficiency, which has been focusing on finding a mechanism to ensure compliance with the stated program’s specifications, in order to rationalize and raise the efficiency of energy consumption. These procedures have been implemented by a working group, including the Ministry of Commerce and Investment, the Ministry of Energy, Industry and Mineral Resources, the Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization, the Saudi Customs and the Saudi Center for Energy Efficiency.
