The inspectors of the Ministry of Commerce Madinah branch carried out 4,218 price monitoring assignments covering supply and essential commodities in August, with 2,500 inspection visits performed.
The inspections focused on warehouses, markets and retail outlets across cities, governorates and villages located throughout the province. The inspectors made sure that all of the businesses adhered to the regulations set forth by the Ministry on pricing.
Violators were slapped with 216 fines on the spot.
To protect the rights of consumers and guarantee that they have access to a variety of items in ample quantities, the Ministry of Commerce continues to implement stringent measures for the purpose of closely monitoring prices across the entirety of the Kingdom's regions.
