MCI concluded the workshop on the importance of trademarks for small and medium enterprises, in cooperation between the World Trade Services Center in the Ministry and the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), which was held in Riyadh during the period 16-17.08. 1436 H, with the participation of a number of government staff, the private sector, those interested in small and medium enterprises and entrepreneurs.
Through the workshop a number of topics have been highlighted, such as trademark designing, classification of trademarks, researching and testing of trademarks in accordance with Madrid System for the International Registration of Trademarks. The participants were also briefed on the mechanism of registering the trademarks electronically through the Ministry of Commerce and Industry. An entrepreneur has been hosted to brief the audience on the importance and value of trademark registration, for the purpose of its protection, as well as to achieve the expansion and spread in the domestic and international markets.
MCI confirms its commitment to raise awareness and knowledge on the importance of trademarks, and to give special interest in the small and medium enterprises, because of their great and important role in strengthening the economies, as well as how to take advantage of the international trade agreements to achieve the economic interests of Saudi Arabia.
MCI also urges the government and private sector staff, as well as those interested to take advantage of these workshops to increase the awareness and knowledge of their employees on the International Trade Agreements.
