The Ministry of Commerce’s inspectors have continued their full-swing monitoring visits targeting businesses and outlets in Makkah, Madinah and the Holy Sites to ensure that there are ample supplies of goods for the Hajj season in 2022 and that prices are under control
Over 12,338 stores were inspected to guarantee adequate supplies, high-quality goods, and reasonable prices for pilgrims. Sites inspected included over 10,565 shops, 944 shops selling gold, precious metals, and precious stones, 461 shops for changing vehicle tires, and 368 petroleum service centers and gas stations.
The Ministry is ramping up its field efforts to monitor stores, outlets, and vehicles carrying food and consumer goods in the Holy Sites. It double-checks and verifies that there are goods and products available for pilgrims.
Daily updates are also reported on the food supply situation in Makkah, Madinah, and the Holy Sites, ensuring that the work is proceeding as planned and keeping an eye on price increases and possible commercial violations.
The Ministry has urged all consumers to collaborate with it in the event of a complaint or observation, and to report them via the unified call center at 1900, the "Commercial Violation" app, or the its official website on the internet.
