The Ministry of Commerce's inspectors and the Eastern Province Police apprehended undocumented workers tampering with the weight of poultry products.

The workers put a sticker on the merchandise indicating a weight greater than the actual one.

The Ministry summoned the owner of store located in the Dammam Central Market and referred the workers involved to the pertinent authorities for statutory penalties against them.

Among the seized items were 1,700 ready-to-sell chicken plates weighing 325 grams and wrapped in 400-gram packages. Around 1,900 stickers of various brands and weight labels, as well as three devices used for tampering with weight were confiscated.

The Ministry of Commerce reiterates its commitment to protecting consumers and imposing statutory penalties against those who violate the Anti-Commercial Fraud Law, which provides for penalties of up to three years in prison, fines of up to one million riyals or both, defamation of violators, and deportation of violating foreign employees.

It also encourages all consumers to report violators using the App "A Commercial Violation", the Toll-free number at 1900, or the Ministry's official website on the Internet.
