In preparation for the overhaul of the Commercial Registry and Trade Names Systems, and the subsequent fundamental changes in the electronic procedures, services, systems, and database, the Ministry of Commerce has declared the suspension of services directly pertaining to these systems for a period of seven days, commencing on Thursday, 27th Ramadan 1446 AH, corresponding to 27th March 2025 AD, and concluding on Thursday, 5th Shawwal 1446 AH, corresponding to the 3rd of April 2025 AD.
The Ministry clarified that the suspension process aims at updating databases, procedures, and services in accordance with the evolving provisions of the newly enacted Commercial Registry and Trade Names Systems and their respective executive regulations as applicable to the commercial sector, encompassing legislative, procedural, and technical aspects, in addition to establishing connectivity with all relevant governmental entities.
The Ministry stated that the most prominent services related to the two systems that will be suspended include: issuance of a commercial register, amendment of a commercial register, renewal of a commercial register, cancellation of a commercial register, transferring the ownership of a commercial register, incorporation of companies, amendment of company memorandum of associations, and reservation of trade names.
Notwithstanding the foregoing, certain services shall continue to be provided (until the effective date of overhauling), including, but not limited to: commercial notifications, discount licenses, commercial franchise services, and commercial attestations.
The Ministry hereby earnestly advises all clients to effectuate their respective transactions prior to the aforementioned service suspension date, utilizing either electronic channels or authorized branch locations across the Kingdom.
