During the month of February, the Saudi Ministry of Commerce issued violation fines for 12 e-businesses for failing to comply with the executive regulations of the E-Commerce Law, and obligated them to return the sums paid by consumers.

The Ministry received 418 reports about 12 e-businesses selling electronic and electrical devices, furniture, food products, medicines, cosmetics, and jewelry, stating that these businesses did not comply with consumers’ requests to terminate the contract due to delayments in the delivery of the products that consumers requested after the agreed-upon date, not informing the consumer of any expected delay or difficulty in delivering the products, and not providing invoices to the consumer after the conclusion of the contract.

Accordingly, these violations were referred to the Committee to consider violations of the E-Commerce Law, which issued these penalties in accordance with the executive regulations of the E-Commerce Law.

To protect consumers’ rights, the Ministry of Commerce confirms its ongoing efforts to monitor cases of violation and ensure compliance by imposing legal penalties in accordance with the executive regulations of the E-commerce Law.
