The inspectors of the Ministry of Commerce Northern Frontier branch performed 4,900 price monitoring assignments covering supply and essential commodities in August, with over 1380 inspection visits carried out.
The inspections focused on warehouses, markets and retail outlets across cities, governorates and villages located throughout the province. The inspectors made sure that all of the businesses were in compliance with the regulations stipulated for by the Ministry on pricing.
Violators were slapped with 67 fines on the spot.
To safeguard consumer rights and ensure that they have access to a wide range of goods in sufficient numbers, the Ministry of Commerce continues to enact strict procedures with the goal of closely monitoring pricing throughout all of the Kingdom's regions.
