For the First Time in the History of MCI, H.E. the Minister of Commerce and Investment Appoints Ms. Samar Saleh as a Commercial Attaché in Tokyo

H.E. the Minister of Commerce and Investment, Dr. Majid bin Abdullah Al Qasabi, has issued a decree appointing Samar Bint Mazen Saleh as a commercial attaché at the Saudi Embassy in Tokyo, Japan. Samar is the first woman to serve as a commercial attaché in the history of MCI.

This is part of the Ministry's plan to empower women role in serving their country. Ms. Samar has got a Master's Degree in Journalism and International Media from City University in London. She has also completed the Executive Leadership Program at Harvard University. She got a Bachelor's Degree in Journalism and Information, major in International and Governmental Studies, from the American University In Sharjah, in addition to a number of training courses. She began her career in the financial sector, and she speaks English and Italian fluently.

Prior to her appointment as a Commercial Attaché, she had worked at the Saudi Commercial Attaché in Italy. She was responsible for the promotion of trade exchange, including the development of non-oil exports. She was entrusted with many tasks, including the coordination with the Saudi and Italian governmental authorities relevant to promoting non-oil exports, according to the executive plan of the Deputy Ministry for Foreign Trade, associated with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030. She has also a major role in building strategic relations with the leading entrepreneurs in Italy, and contributing to the opening of the Italian market for the Saudi products through the initiative "Made in Saudi Arabia".
