The Ministry of Commerce released the results of its automotive dealership assessment, thereby providing consumers with a heightened degree of transparency by sharing dealership performance metrics and service quality evaluations, ultimately empowering consumers to take informed purchasing decisions amidst a diverse market landscape.
The Ministry further clarified that the assessment enhances competitiveness among dealerships, elevates the quality of the services provided to the consumers, and is subject to periodic updates. The evaluation of automotive dealers encompass (4) four fundamental criteria, namely: inventory and reservation data, after-sales services, compliance level, and adherence to consumer rights protection, as measured by (16) indicators that evaluate dealership performance and obligations, notably: the availability of 'high-demand' vehicles, waiting lists, maintenance duration, and spare parts availability.
The assessment criteria and indicators were developed with the objective of advancing the automotive sector and addressing consumer challenges. These indicators were adopted in partnership with consumers, the private sector represented by the Cars Agents National Committee within the Federation of Saudi Chambers, and the dealerships themselves.
