Within 96 hours, MCI Inspectors inspected 11 thousand Establishments and Detected 695 Violations

MCI inspection teams carried out inspection tours on commercial establishments in different regions of the Kingdom to ensure the regularity of their work and to verify the abundance of commodities and petroleum products, also to control all commercial violations, including circumvention of prices and the difference between the shelf price and that with the cashier, also refraining from using or giving coins by some shops.

During the last four days, 11,586 Establishments had been inspected and 695 violations had been detected, under the direct supervision of the Joint Operations Room for Consumer Protection.

MCI inspection teams detected violations related to Anti-Commercial Fraud Law and the Commercial Data System. This is concurrently with the enforcement of VAT and the new energy prices.

MCI has taken all the necessary precautions in cooperation with government agencies, including the security authorities, under the supervision of the Joint Operations Room for Consumer Protection. All that for taking action immediately and for speeding up the intervention in various regions of the Kingdom.

MCI would like to confirm that it will not hesitate to impose the legal penalties against the violating Establishments.

Meanwhile, MCI inspection teams have been carrying out the inspection tours and responding to consumers’ complaints round the clock. ALL MCI branches in the Kingdom have been informed to monitor and control any violations and to take the necessary legal procedures immediately. 

MCI calls on all consumers to cooperate and lodge their complaints and observations through MCI Consumer Call Center 1900, or through the application of a Commercial Violation Report, or via the Ministry's website.
