The joint inspection teams of the Ministries of Commerce and Industry and Mineral Resources seized a factory violating standards and specifications for reducing the number of tissues inside packages.
This came during a joint visit carried out by the inspection teams to one of the factories in the Riyadh region, aimed at examining the quality of locally manufactured products and ensuring their conformity with standards and specifications. Samples were taken from production lines and referred to specialized testing laboratories under the supervision of the Saudi Standards, Metrology, and Quality Organization.
The technical reports issued by the Organization’s laboratories showed that the factory violated the approved Saudi standards, as the number of tissues inside the package did not match the number stated on the product. Procedures are underway to take the necessary legal actions against the violators and impose the appropriate penalties.
The Ministries of Commerce and Industry and Mineral Resources, along with the Saudi Standards, Metrology, and Quality Organization, affirm the continued joint inspection efforts to preserve the quality of products circulating in the Saudi market and to combat any misleading practices, thereby strengthening consumer confidence in locally manufactured products.
