The inspection teams of the Ministry of Commerce carried out 6,737 inspection visits to outlets selling school supplies across various regions of the Kingdom during the period from 18–28 August 2025, coinciding with the start of the new academic year.
The visits included bookstores, stationery shops, and sales outlets offering school supplies in all regions of the Kingdom, to verify their compliance with the Ministry’s regulations.
The inspections aim to raise compliance rates and protect consumers, ensuring the availability of school products and alternatives, the presence of price tags or electronic display of product prices, the absence of discrepancies between shelf prices and those recorded at cash registers, and that product information is clearly written in Arabic. The visits also verify the legality of discounts, promotional offers, and competitions.
