The regulatory teams of the Ministry of Commerce in the Eastern Province have recently discovered more than 123,000 metal plugs intended for wall socket installation. These boxes were found in an unauthorized warehouse and were not compliant with Saudi quality standards.
The Ministry's regulatory teams have confiscated this non-compliant inventory and have summoned the owner of the warehouse to undergo the necessary legal procedures in accordance with the Anti-Commercial Fraud Law.
The Anti-Commercial Fraud Law entails various penalties, including imprisonment for up to three years, fines of up to one million Saudi Riyals, or a combination of both penalties. Additionally, it may result in the deportation of those involved in the violation and publicizing the violations in two newspapers. Furthermore, commercial activities can be suspended following a valid judicial ruling from the competent courts.
