His Excellency the Minister of Commerce and Investment, Dr. Majid bin Abdullah Al Qasabi, heads the Kingdom's delegation, leaving tomorrow to Baghdad to participate in the second session of the Saudi-Iraqi coordination council.
The Saudi delegation includes H.E. Minister of Culture, Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Farhan Al Saud, H.E. Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture, Engr. Abdul Rahman Al-Fadhli, H.E. Minister of Energy, Industry and Mineral Resources Engr. Khalid Al-Falih, H.E. Minister of Education, Dr. Hamad Al-Sheikh, H.E. Minister of Information, Mr. Turki Al Shibana, H.E. Minister of State for Arab Gulf Affairs, Mr. Thamer Al-Sabhan, H.E. Governor of the General Customs Authority, Mr. Ahmad Al Haqabani, H.E. Deputy Minister of Energy, Industry and Mineral Resources, Engr. Abdulaziz Al-Abdul Karim, H.E. President of Public Transport Authority, Mr. Rimaih Al Rimaih, H.E. Governor of General Authority for Foreign Trade, Mr. Abdul Rahman Al Harbi, in addition to representatives from Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Energy, Industry and Mineral Resources, Ministry of Transport, Ministry of Information, Ministry of Commerce and Investment, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture, Ministry of Islamic Affairs , The General Authority for Investment, the Saudi Arabian Monetary Agency, the General Presidency of Intelligence, the Saudi Export Development Authority, the General Authority for Civil Aviation, the Public Transport Authority, the General Authority of Ports, the General Authority for Sport, the Saudi Commission for Industrial Cities and Technology Zones, the Saudi Development Fund, and the Presidency of the State Security, and King Salman Relief Center, in addition to a high-level delegation from the major Saudi companies wishing to invest in various sectors in Iraq.
On the sidelines of the meetings, the Saudi delegation will meet with His Excellency the President of the Republic of Iraq, Dr. Barham Saleh, the Iraqi Prime Minister, Mr. Adel Abdul Mahdi, and the President of the Iraqi Parliament, Mr. Mohamed Al Halbusi.
It is worth mentioning that the first Saudi-Iraqi coordination council was held in October 2017, under the patronage and blessing of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, and the Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi, and US Secretary of State Red Tillerson.
The Saudi-Iraqi Coordination Council aims to enhance the bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries in all fields, as well as to promote and boost such relation to new horizons, besides coordinating the bilateral efforts to serve the interests of the two countries and ensure the protection of common interests and to confirm the development of strategic partnership between both sides. The Saudi-Iraqi Council also aims to encourage the exchange of technical expertise between the two countries, work on technology transfer and effect cooperation relevant to scientific research.
