The Ministry of Commerce calls on all users of "Hyundai Santavia" cars, model (2012-2017) to repair the fuel pumps in their cars immediately. This is in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions to avoid any fires during the refueling process.
The Ministry stresses the importance of contacting the agent urgently, or a third party maintenance center, committed to the manufacturer's repair instructions, since any maintenance not in compliance with the manufacturer's instructions may lead to a leakage in the fuel tank, thus increasing the possibility of fire during refueling.
The Ministry has been carrying out the necessary investigation by forming a technical team to determine these cases, and to find out the real causes, in cooperation with the manufacturer and the local agent. Notably, the Ministry has received reports from the General Directorate of Civil Defense regarding this problem, in which they refer to 6 similar cases for car users, where they experienced limited fire, while refueling their cars. Luckily, the fire was under control and there was no damage.
This step comes as part of the Ministry's efforts and keenness to protect the consumer and to ensure and preserve his rights, based on its pivotal role in ensuring the safety of products from any manufacturing defects.
