After receiving complaints from the consumers, the Ministry of Commerce and the Commission of Communications and Information Technology summoned officials of a number of e-stores and parcel delivery companies in different regions of the Kingdom, due to the delay in delivering the products ordered online by the consumers.
The two Ministries explained that the reason for such delay is due to the current challenges, especially with the increase of online orders that go concurrently with the curfew procedures, which led to the accumulation of some shipments and the delay in delivery. Meanwhile, the e-stores are currently working to increase their work to deliver the orders within a few days.
The Ministry of Commerce and the Commission of Communications and Information Technology held a meeting yesterday with e-stores and parcel delivery companies to find urgent solutions and to ensure the delivery of orders during the next few days. Notably, the customer should be given the full right to recover his amount in case he does not want to wait, and he must be informed about that.
The two Ministries affirmed their keenness to ensure and protect the consumers’ rights, and they called on all parties to understand the current exceptional circumstances. The two Ministries would continue to work with all relevant government agencies and companies to ensure serving the consumers in the best way, besides protecting and preserving their rights.
