The Ministry of Commerce in the Eastern Region Carried out more than 5,600 Inspection Tours, and Followed up the continuity of Providing Food Supplies and Services by the Commercial Establishments

During the last week, the inspection teams of the Ministry of Commerce in the Eastern Region followed up and inspected the commercial establishments to ensure the continuity of their work in providing services and food supplied to the consumers, also to verify their commitment to consumer protection regulations.

MCI inspectors carried out 5,600 inspection tours included groceries, hypermarkets, vegetable and fruit shops, poultry, fish and meat shops, bakeries, and gas stations. Meanwhile, 345 violations were released and immediate penalties were imposed on the violators.

The Ministry of Commerce confirmed that the work at these facilities is proceeding naturally and running smoothly, in terms of the availability and abundance of goods, food stock and the flow of food supplies of basic goods and consumables.

The Ministry of Commerce urges all citizens and residents to use the electronic delivery applications, registered with the Communications and Information Technology Commission, to request all their needs of catering and consuming materials round the clock, and not to leave the house except for the absolute necessity, in order to preserve their safety and health, and to adhere with the wise leadership instructions and orders.

The Ministry of Commerce continues to receive reports and complaints round the clock through MCI Consumer Call Center (1900), or through the application of a Commercial Violation Report, or via the Ministry’s website.
