On Saturday, the Ministry’s inspection teams carried out 174 inspection tours on shops and outlets in Tathleeth Governorate, Asir Region. This is to ensure the shops’ commitment to consumer protection regulations.
The inspection campaign targeted maintenance centers, tire repair shops, spare parts stores, gold & jewelry shops, in addition to other shops, during this campaign 2,745 expired and fake items were seized, as well as a commercial cover-up case was detected.
The Ministry had summoned the owners of the violating stores, and necessary legal measures had been taken against the violators.
The Ministry of Commerce would like to confirm that the inspection teams will continue to perform their duties, in order to ensure and verify the commitment of the shops to the consumer protection regulations. The Ministry will take all the legal measures against any violations, besides imposing the proper penalties on the violators.
