More than 1200 items, immediate fining, owners to be investigated
MCI confiscated destroyed more than 1200 cosmetics' units, which were readied for sale at marketplaces, in Najran, as their expiry, non-validity for human consumption and bad intent to cheat were proven.
Fines were, immediately, applied against the owners of violating shops and were recalled for investigation, in order to complete the regulatory procedures.
Destroyed items which have been confiscated, included crèmes, body oils, dyes, and other cosmetics.
Inspection teams in Najran, have made a number of rounds, at marketplaces, especially for cosmetics' shops and found a non-abidance by so many regulatory rules of sale, such as displaying prices' tags, in addition to displaying a lot of rotten items harmful to consumers, if used.
On the other hand, MCI reaffirmed that it will continue with such inspection round, in marketplaces, warehouses and installations to guarantee malpractices' free markets, such as cheating and deceiving, in general.
On the other hand, MCI warns of involving in selling expired items harmful to consumers and that it will apply utmost penalties on offenders.
