Including as many as 500 various commodities, harmful to consumer's health
Inspection teams of MCI confiscated, recently, some cosmetics, unknown origin and expired items, along with other allegedly medical commodities, harmful to consumer's health at perfumes' shops, in Buridah. The quantities have been destroyed, immediately, on the spot, and the offenders have been called for investigation.
These teams have come across other violations at those shops, such as finding some locally made materials and mix, bearing no commercial data, and confiscated them, too.
Confiscated items were more than 500 commodity, such as oils, creams, cosmetics, medicines, counterfeit perfumes, herbal mix and water bottles contravening sanitary conditions.
Confiscation followed inspection rounds by MCI teams, at marketplaces, to guarantee the safety of displayed commodities and items, at Buridah's marketplaces and its conformity to human consumption rules, in addition to complaints and grievances made by consumers against a number of shops.
On the other hand, MCI reaffirmed that it will continue with such inspection round, in marketplaces, warehouses and installations to guarantee malpractices' free markets, such as cheating and deceiving, in general.
