Detecting Labors Refilling the Counterfeit Inks and Forging the Shampoos

 

The  investigation carried out by MCI revealed labors who were re- filling used ink cartridges and  storing counterfeit shampoos and creams for world famous brands to be sold and marketed to the shops claiming that they are original, more than 36 thousand items had been confiscated from a number of locations  including old houses southern Riyadh. These locations were closed and all the counterfeit items were destroy and the owners were summoned for investigation and taking the necessary  legal procedures against them.

 

The details go back to the MCI Control Teams  in cooperation with the joint Security Campaign where they detected a traditional house in Shemaysi area in Riyadh used for re-filling counterfeit ink cartridges by labors, as well as two apartments in Al Malaz area used to prepare, store and re-filling  counterfeit printers inks.

 

After raiding the site by the Control Teams, they had detected more than 12 thousand counterfeit ink cartridge for international brands, in addition to seizing 500 cylinders of car air conditioning gas in an apartment, where a number of samples were taken to test how far they comply with the standards and specifications.

 

Meanwhile, MCI Control Teams confiscated more than 24 thousand shampoo bottles and creams inside a traditional house in Al Deira, the origin of these items was anonymous and they did not contain any trade data in Arabic, the house was   raided  in coordination with the security forces. All the counterfeit items were confiscated and destroyed and the necessary regulations were taken against the violators.

 

This comes within the framework of the ongoing Inspection Tours implemented by MCI on all commercial establishments and shops to ensure their regular work, and the absence of any fraud on consumers, and to stop  exploiting the demand for purchase in selling and marketing adulterated or counterfeit goods .
