The National Program for Combating Commercial Concealment continues inspection visits across different regions and business sectors to check establishments’ compliance and ensure there are no violations of the Anti-Concealment Law.
In the second quarter, joint inspection teams conducted over 8,000 visits to central markets for food and consumer goods, retail of electrical and electronic appliances, retail of accessories and clothing items, full-service restaurants, retail of sanitary ware, and men’s salons
The Ministry of Commerce received 1,704 reports of suspected commercial concealment during the second quarter. These reports were referred to inspection teams for follow-up. Violations were detected, including commercial violations and others related to labor and residency laws. Moreover, 147 violations were referred to the Committee for Reviewing Violations of the Anti-Concealment Law, and 13 violations were referred to the Public Prosecution. The total amount of fines issued during the second quarter reached SAR 2,189,600.
